Part 1: The Amazing Race: A contest of faith
"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat."
" Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,and few there be that find it."
Matthew 7:13-14
Adam looked kinda perplexed, looking at the title: "The Amazing Race: the contest of faith." Why did mom give this to me, I have been a Christian for two years. I know I have done somethings that have been pretty stupid, but i don't think I need to go to this. He looked at the brochure, it showed,kids about 15 or 16, He read the subject line again: "Tired of the same old christian life, tired of not feeling God in your life, do you want to be an extreme child of God, doing his awesome work and living in his glory, well come to this seminar and experience the extreme change. It was not far away, His church sponsored the seminar, and kids liked it so, he decided to go to this seminar.
He got to the resort on thursday and would stay till Sunday afternoon, He unpacked and went to the conference hall where the seminar would be held, he looke at the colorful title The Amazing Race: The contest of faith. "Hey man, what do you think of this place bud" Adams best friend Josh put one arm around his shoulder, with a huge grin, "eh, It looks alright" Josh, still grinning sarcastically commented "Well mister pesimistic, lets take our seats."
The host of the seminar was Adam and Josh's Pastor, John Wise, he looked at all the kids, "welcome, young and old, oh wait I am the only delapidated one, they all laughed, becaused he was 55 and said to all the kids his body in about 20 years, would be old and delapidated. "Well without further a due, here he is, mister Walter Ham." all the kids clapped and welcomed Mr. Ham.
"What if Faith where a map, and you where on a destination, and you where given clues to get too that destiantion. and there would be a guide to guide of course where to go."
The Kids where actually paying attention, even Adam looked glazed, as he listened to Mr. Ham.
Mr. Ham picked up his bible and raides it in the air; " Well where to begin, well one you have to be invited to this race, it proclaims in The Gospel of John 3:3 verily, verily, i say unto the except a man be born again , he cannot see the Kingdom of God.", So one must conclude to enter this race, he must be born again. Now most of you are christians, amen. "AMEN", shouted all the kids. with a smile on the old but yet tender complection; "well, that is something always good to hear." "okay so your in the race, and you have a destianation, but do you believe the map, but how do you believe the map." "You follow the Compass, and what is your compass, The Greatest book and spiritual compass ever given, the holy word of God, now my favorite, for proof that the bible is the great compass is in Isaiah chapter 40:8 it states, "The Grass withereth and the Flower fadeth, but the word of the lord shall stand forever." So with That proof, we can always asure that the bible, is the true compass to salvation, and too eternal life. "So you have a map, a destiantion, and now a compass, but what you need is a guide, to tell you the clues, and to show you how to get there, well, who is this guide, well he needs, to know where he is going, and needs to show people, how to get there without getting them lost. "Well we all know who this Guide is..... RIGHT!!!" "JESUS" shouted all the kids, laughing out loud, Mr. ham looks at all the kids with pride and Joy, Well I am glad you are not lost yet. all kids laughed, and clapped him oon, wanting more information, on how to get to the destination. Mr. ham looked around "Jesus is the greatest spiritual guide who ever lived, and He also lives today, he well just... umm went up into the clouds, to meet his father, but he gave us clues, to be invited and to stay on what he called, The stait and narrow proclaimed by his mouth in Matthew 7:14. "Most of these clues are all over the bible, the old and new testaments, but most of these clues jesus proclaimed, in what we most call, The Sermon on the Mount" in Mathew 5: 3-12 these clues where given to the people of Israel, the says that he went up on a mountain and seeing the people he proclaimed":
Blessed are the poor in spirit:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek:
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst for rightousness
for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful:
for the shall obtain mercy
Blessed are the pure in heart
for they shall see God
Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called children of God
Blessed are they which are persecuted for rightousness' sake;
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven .
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you and persecute you and shall say all mannerof evil against you falsely, for my names sake
Rejoice, and exceedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted
they the prophets which were before you.
Adam was on the edge of his seat, he knew this guy was good, but when he was going to get back he knew he would be changed forever, he was going to tell everyone how his faith went extreme.
Well was that not a great little sermon, well guys what do you think, is faith really a map with destiantion.
Jesus says in the Gospel of Matthew, one of my Favorite Gospels and books of the bible, says
"Enter
ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat."
" Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,and few there be that find it."
Matthew 7:13-14
Jesus also says in Matthew 16:24; If any man will come after me let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me
One must have faith, to read the map, and one must have faith, and the only way to have faith, is to give your life to God, faith can only be clear, with only the will of God.
So in concluding, people ask how do you walk by faith, well by the will of God, Faith is the map, and the bible is the compass, to become good with the compass, you have to have a teacher, a guide, and that guide is Jesus Christ. read your bible and the map will come clear, and your destination, will become understandable, remember people, the map you have will not be the same as other people, you have your own map, and God gave you that map, to do the work of who....?? OF GOD!!, as stated in Ephesisans chapter 1:1-14

Okay, "so what you are saying is that these ten Commandments, show what I am doing wrong" asked Matt. "Well yeah, I mean when you steal something, do you not feel guilty, and even stressed about people finding out, I mean, it's totally sin, no doubt."
Matt looked perplex
Jake was trying to find a way to make him understand, but even though he was this believer, but just for about three years, he was still growing himself, but he was so excited, about this thing he had discovered, and he began to tell everyone, about this messiah, this Christ, called Jesus, but it was either, "get away, you Jesus freak, "or "I am not into that sry", he also lost alot of friends, he was in a band, he played the guitar, and played Metallica, and three days Grace, but now he was more involved in church, playing in the youth band, he even lost his girlfriend. but even through all those trials, he also seen that through reading the word of God, that he was changing, and he liked the way he was growing, even his parents, knew and they were proud of him, "Your really growing, son" commented mom, "you know, like this son, you could really make things happen in your walk. But now, he was more concentrated on Matt,
"Okay take another one, um, okay since you are a guy, you do like girls, right" Jake asked with a sarcastic, grin " of Course dude I am not that way" "Well hey people can be, and you never know it so, well anyways, there is this verse in the gospel of Matthew, I think the fifth chapter, Jesus says, "It is said do not commit adultery, but I say unto you that whosoever looks at a woman with lust, commits adultery in his own heart, so, you have looked at a girl, and thought things right" Well yeah man, it's so hard not too." Well that is a sin, and since you have broken the two commandments, you have broke them all, when you break one you break them all, it say in Romans that all have fallen short of the glory of God, I sin, you sin, we all sin, but you know what, there was a man years ago, he lived such a perfect life, he did not sin, he was a great teacher and healer, and he came to die on a piece of wood, of wood, where his blood poured down, and shared his last breath, and the gift of salvation. then the best things, where he was buried, it's now empty, not because, someone moved his body, but lives, and sits on the right hand of his father, in heaven, and the best thing, I can now not think, bout what I have done and the life I used to live, but now I think about his wonderful grace, and how he gave me that chance."
It's amazing, how God can use people it says, in Romans chapter 3:20, "for by the law is the knowledge of sin"
God put together, these commandments, to show us that we are not really so good like we thought we were, I mean just think about it, Abraham, David, Joseph, Samson, Solomon, but they were some of the most greatest, and ALL OF THEM BROKE THE LAW,
the last verse i will say is in john Chapter 8:12
Then spake Jesus saying "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
Remember guys, if you always walk with Jesus, you always have a flashlight guiding your way.
